Touting itself as a 24/7 online tutoring service for students, TutorVista.com looks good until you actually talk to the people involved. I spoke with two academic coordinators, a tutor, and finally a manager, and none of them used proper grammar or spelling. Mind you, this site claims to offer help with English, among other subjects. Regardless, any educational site needs to have certain standards.

I complained directly. At first I was offered apologies that I felt that way (felt that they were providing a second-rate service?), then the assurance that someone would look into the problem. When I insisted on speaking to someone who was accountable for how this company was run, I was told that the manager of the manager was not in the office and that authorization was needed to provide his contact information. The authorization happened, remarkably, when I said I was reporting this business.
I am not convinced that steps will actually be taken to correct the problems, given how hard everyone tried to politely put me off when I voiced my concerns. I sincerely hope that they do make changes, however. I would be pleasantly surprised.
