Auto rikshaw charges
Asking for more money without putting meter and harrasing the public

I enquired an auto-rickshaw (KA 03 B 6560) to go from Madivala (Bangalore) to Murugesh Palaya at about 6:00am today (08 Feb). He said that it would cost about Rs 150, whereas the actual meter rate was only Rs 70. Even we take 1.5 times, it would cost only Rs 105. I negotiated with the auto driver and initially agreed for Rs 100. When I was entering into the auto, the auto driver started asking for Rs 120. Immediately, I stopped entering into that auto and enquiring for another auto. That auto driver started shouting at me vulgarly. When, I was noting down the auto number, he was telling that no one can do anything on him.

It is to be noted that it is not a new activity and several people are facing the same problem. There is no control on these people. Although the police people know all these things, there is no action on these people. Due to this, the public not only looses huge money but also being harassed. It is requested the police should have strict vigilance on these people and save general public.
