CORRUPTION CHARGES

Dear Sir,

On 04 Mar at around 1315 Hrs I purchased two current tickets from Mumbai Central to Vapi for 12933 Karnavati Express which was scheduled to depart from Mumbai Central at 1340 Hrs. On platform I enquired from the TTE Mr. ARUN DABHI availability in CC class till Vapi. He said that the seats are available and told us to occupy Seats 06 and 07 in C1 compartment. On his instructions we occupied the seats in C1 compartment. He didn't came for checking tickets till the train was 05 min short of Vapi railway station. On nearing vapi he came along with one drunk person who appeared to another railway employee and started checking tickets along with him. On reaching us the other person asked for tickets and we showed him our current tickets. The TTE Mr. Arun Dabhi maintained some distance and the other person asked Rs. 300 from us. I gave him the money thinking that he will issue us the ticket as extra surcharge for CC class. But he simply went withput issuing any ticket. On asking the TTE he said that he is not carrying the extra ticket pad. the other person came and started arguing with me on this issue. The train reached Vapi station and I had to disembark. But this incident is quite unfortunate since the railway employees are themselves eating away Government money. It is requested that suitable enquiry may be initated aginst the TTE or some method to catch him red handed must be evolved. Hoping for a favourable response from your side.
