Reference: Complaint Number 08 of Northern Railway registered on 03.03.2011 at Lucknow Railway station in respect of Intercity Express 14210 (Lucknow to Allahabad) departure at 7.30 am.

In respect of the above complaint we would like to narrate the complaint in detail as there was not much time provided to us for lodging complaint by the Guard.

We (Gagan Kumar Arora, Asstt. Audit Officer, Nikhil Jaiswal, Asstt. Audit Officer, and R.R. Jaiswal, Sr. Audit Officer) were on the journey from Lucknow to Allahabad by Intercity Express, train no. 14210 (Lucknow to Allahabad) on 03.03.2011. We have taken seats in the coach number 13515 at 6:40 AM. Later on at 7:15 AM the Guard of the train named Sri Jamal Rasool has started to take bribe for allotting seats in the Coach. This was done by him with the help of RPF personnel. When the requesters of the seats on the basis of bribe have increased, he asked us at 7.25 AM to leave the coach saying that it was reserved for ladies. When we opposed it on the basis that there was no board for ladies coach then he replied that the Guard has exclusive power to declare any coach as ladies coach at any time. We requested to give complaint book to lodge our complaint then he gave the complaint book and said to us that even DRM cannot take any action against him and your complaint will not have any force.
