PNR INVALID

I am a regular traveler. I book my train tickets through IRCTC.I have been doing this from past couple of years. I had my travel on 24-08 from Shoranur-Kerala to Bangalore-Yeshwanthpur by Train #16528 Yeshwanthpur Express. I had booked in 2Tier A/C which costed me Rs.750/-I was surprised to see that my PNR had no validity. Then the ticket collecter/TC advised me to check my PNR on my cellphone. When I checked, it was valid and all details mentioned on my e-ticket was perfect. Coach A1-Berth 32.I showed this to the TC.It was so shocking. The same berth was alloted to a different age old lady passenger whose PNR had a match in TC 's list. I was so helpless at that moment. I had to pay a penalty and travel in the second class. Kindly advise me on this.
