Traveling on staff ticket

I was travelling on Air India from Delhi to Nagpur on 14/11 on a staff ticket along with my wife. At the check-in desk, I was told that my name has been put into the system on standby and would have to check after a while with the Duty Manager, a gentleman named Mr. Arya.
From then on I was standing and waited for Mr. Arya to inform us about the status. He kept on telling us that since we were on standby we have to wait till the end. As we kept following up for the status, he very harshly told us that because of the rush, he cannot entertain SOL (subject to load) tickets. He even went to the extent of telling us that “staff ticket, don't even show me your face".
Following the above conversation, it is surprising to note that:
a) The flight went with 4 empty seats in the Y class.
b) One staff from Nagpur (also travelling on staff ticket) was allotted 2 seats.
Hence I would like to recommend a strong action against the staff for his uncooperative behavior. Alternatively if such is the case then Air India better stop offering free/discounted tickets to staff to avoid such instances in future.
