Horrible service at Jetairways checkin

I live in US and went to India for business. I was traveling on advanced parole document (stage before green card). My ticket was with United Airlines from San Francisco to London and later on Jet Airways from London to Mumbai. When I left San Francisco, United checking agent called UK consulate to verify if I can travle on that visa. She got a confirmation and she let me board flight. I had no problem at UK airport.

On way back at Mumbai airport, at Jet Airways counter didn't allow me to board the flight because I had advanced parole document... later I made few calls and realised that it is the rule.. now Jet Airways told that they will put me on different route so I cna reach destination but I had to BUY the ticket... they didn't give me refund not credit towards new ticket purchase... in my travle I never heard toicket getting completely waste!!! Can anybody help me in such case???
