Non-refund of Rs.520

Sir,

I purchased glazed tiles from Golden Sanitary Stores, 34/33 Arundale Street, Mylapore, Chennai-600004 (Phone Nos.24982786 and 24983786) on 5-8 and they promised to take back unused balance tiles and refund. On 6-8 I went to the shop after fixing appointment to return tiles worth Rs.520/- and they took delivery of the tiles, but refused to pay the cash saying no cash available and asked me to come late in the evening.

From 6th evening to date of 10th Aug, I have been making frantic telephonic calls and every time they have been saying, that owner is not available, you come later. I even requested the staff of the shop to collect the money from the owner so that I can come and collect during the shop timings.

It is highly surprising, to hear their lame excuse to refund a small sum of Rs.520/- when they do business worth of lakhs of rupees daily without the owner's presence. It can be understood, they want to evade this payment thinking that the customer will after some efforts will forget or leave the matter.

Sir, kindly help me in getting this sum and also they can be warned suitably, so that other customers do not suffer like this, as most of the customers may not have time or knowledgeable enough to take up the matter suitably.

Your timely intervention will help the public and the unscrupulous elements will not grow like this.
