Change of colour of drum

Got descaling done during authorised free service period (90 washes) by authorise service agent who used authorised DESCAL powder. Colour and texture of drum which was shining steel has turned dull yellow with rough texture immediately after the procedure, as if the powder reacted with the drum. Service agent duly acknowledged and has agreed to replace the drum and tub. I only hope the company replaces the machine as i do not know which other parts have got affected. I am however thankful that the response has been very prompt till now.
