Want to block my stolen mobile

I lost my mobile during travel from home to office on Jan19.

It was Nokia 5230, I want this mobile to be blocked so that noone can use my mobile.

I have the Bill and IMEI number along with the police complaint copy.

I am trying daily to get it done via Airtel and Nokia outlets, but all are advising me to go on the other one (Airtel says go to nokia and vice-versa).

And because of all this I am having a second thought in buying nokia phone again.

This behaviour suggest only one thing that one who stole my mobile can use it without any tension.

Kindly do let me know the procedure to block my mobile phone.
