Insurance claim

Hi,

I have just gotten discharged from the hospital with an ACL knee surgery as i fell off the stairs at home. I was covered under my fathers insurance fort he sum of 3 lakh rupees. New India insurance is being handled by a TPA. My initial approval given to me was 42000 where as my operation has costed 1 lakh rupees. my operation was of 2 days while i was informed by the doctors himself that the insurance ppl take around a day to process.

I was supposed to be discharged today, but then come 6 pm in the evening, my father received an sms that the insurance claim has been declined. no concrete reason was given. We were blatantly asked to pay the amount from ur own pockets and apply later for a possible reimbursement. We did talk to the agent to enquire but they simply did not have any answers. we had no choice but to pay the amount from our credit cards

This is ridiculous. What happends to a poor family who cannot afford to pay the whole amount and relying on the fact that the insurance should take care of this.

this has caused immense pressure on me and my parents. What other action can i take in this matter to make sure i get justice.
