I had purchaded a new Bajaj Platina 125cc on April 6th within two months of purchase the battery became weak as the self start & indicators stopped working. On showing of bike to the exide battery dealer I was informed that one of the cell of the battery was weak hence the same was sent to Exide for checkup as it was under warraty period of 1 year. When I received the battery after a week from the dealer the verification form mentioned that the right side of the battery was damaged & hence there was a leakage & no replacement will be made for the same & I should claim the same from the Insurance company. Then I went to the bajaj bike dealer Cozy India ltd at byculla where I was informed that it is not our responsibilty as there is physical damage done to the battery & to add to it they said even if I claim from Insurance company I will get only 50% of the amount as compensation from the insurace company & on top of that I will have to bear claim charges of Rs 200/- as well. The question here is where does the consumer land in such scenario? Plaese help as my ramzan is going on & I am fasting & working the whole week & in the midst of all this I am being bounce like a tennis ball between the court of the Bajaj Bike Dealer & Exide Batteries
