ParcelForce have lost my suitcase

Dear Sir,

On Dec 13th I sent a package of christmas present to my family in Bridgnorth to a Miss Emma Cartright.

The parcel # is UPI EC 620996983 UK. The parcel had minimal coverage and had left the United States on Dec 17th according to the US Postal Service.

Some time had elapsed and the package had not arrived. After being informed that the parcel had not arrived we had out family call Parcel Force. In January we were told that the parcel was being held for customs in Shrewsbury Depot and that the depo required at 122 pound to release it from Shrewsbury depot. There is 90 pound VAT to pay 20 pound customs tax. If it was not paid within 20 days it will be returned back to us.

We finally called the depot in Shrewsbury and was informed that the insurance on the package was 10, 000 us dollars and that is why the package was held. I sent an email to HM Revenue & Customs Coventry International Hub several times and did not get a reply for the longest time. I finally called again and told them that I had proof that the insurance on the package was 60 us dollars and that the content value was $100 not 10, 000.

Finally later we got a reply asking for an email with contents and money value of all the gifts. We sent the email and then we were asked to send another email detailing contents. We abliged and sent the email. Then we were asked to detail who the contents were for. Mind you again these are christmas presents for our family. So we sent them another email on January 22nd 2008 to S Bagga (Mrs) detailing who the gifts were for and we asked that Parcel force reasses our parcel. It has taken her almost 20 days to reply to our email saying that HMRC will review our claim. I have all the reciepts showing that the content value is $100 and the insurance in $60 and that I could fax it to wherever it needed to go.

So now over a month later we find that Mrs Bagga has somehow misplaced our emails and informs our family members that she did not recieve it.

Its has taken over 3 months for our family to recieve there gifts and Royal mail combined with Pacel force has somehow managed to screw up a good thing.

We hope that somebody... anybody... could just get the package to our family. The whole exmas excitement thing has completly gone south so the least someone there can do is just release the gifts. I can honestly say that this has been a exsausting experience and regret even thinking of mailing something to our family. Not only has Parcel force ruined xmas for our younger family memebers but have totaly worn out our family there for chasing after a package that should have been in there possesion months ago.
