Want to know about railways ruls of ticket vaildity

my self amol chirutkar, i am hear by know that, Is local train ticket valid for any platform in station? today I took Return Ticket from goregoan to dadar at morning, when I was coming back same day from there than TT caught me at platform number 5, according to him my local train ticket is not valid in platform no-5 & said "u have to take platform ticket", he was asking me for 380 rs fine for that, I want to make it confirm that is there any this kind of railway rule, for which he took me fine by me, kindly replay me, I am hoping to railway officials they solve my inquires.
