Cheque tampered

Dear all,

I am Shilpa Gupta and stay in a rented accomodation 401, Mecon Appartment, C-58/10, Sector 62, Noida 201301 and pay my bill at E.E.EUDD - I (Electricity) Consumer No. is 276702

I made a payment of Rs. 1700 on dt February 29 with a ch. no. 752517 drawn on bank HDFC Bank. This payment was encashed from the my HDFC account however it wasn't credited against the consumer no I mentioned on the cheque.

I requested HDFC bank to forward the scanned copy of the cheque to me in order to cheque the details that I had mentioned at the back of the cheque while making the payment however to my surprize I found that rest all the details are correct but not the consumer number.

I wish to raise a complaint here because I can easily gauge that the consumer number has been changed. The writting is definitely not mine. I am really furious because this is forgery.

Please look into the matter and help me.

Attached is my bank statment, bank statement forwarded by HDFC Bank.
