My father, age 80 years, got hurt on his forehead near the left eye. He went to the following pharmacist and he was given an antibiotic named NOVACLOX LB Cap, which we discovered was a schedule H drug, not to be sold without prescription from a medical practitioner. My father did not ask for this medicine but just asked in general if he needed any medicine.
He lives with my mother and luckily we happened to visit them the same day and returned the medicine. When we confronted the pharmacist behind the counter he said, "If we stop giving medicines without prescription people will not get medicines at all."
When we told him that he should have at least checked with my father wether he takes any other medicine he said that my father should have given this information and it is not his responsibility. According to his statement they sell most of the medicines as and when people ask for them without a doctor's prescription.
My father is already taking a few other medicines and the pharmacist did not even ask hi to consult any doctor.
