Fake call

I had a similar experience.

On Sept 12, 2012, I got a call from the same number. It was a guy who called himself Rahul. He said the exact same thing - Mumbai court, non-bailable warrant. What almost had me convinced is that he gave me details of a loan that I had applied for and cleared more than two years ago. He gave exact details of my current address and permanent address. He went ahead and gave me a bank account number where i was supposed to deposit the so-called arrears. Sensing something was off, i did a search on the company that he claimed to represent (Enron Securities Pvt. Ltd.) He mentioned the name as "Enron Securities Private Ltd." for the bank account. He specified it is not Pvt. but Private. The actual company is registered as Pvt. He called back to ask if I had transferred the money. I told him to send me the exact details of the loan arrears from his client, if he does not agree to it, he will have to speak to my lawyer. I haven't heard from him since then..

Please be wary of posting your phone number or addresses on sites where they ask you for such details (loan calculators on non-banking sites, car websites etc.,). Do NOT give your details unless you are absolutely sure about the website.
