Respected Sir,

I, Miss Paulomi Dasgupta is an ex employee of HDFC Phonebanking.

Through this letter I desire to draw your attention to the unfairness done to me, or may be a lot many people.

I joined HDFC Phonebanking on September and continued till April.

Sir, on February 8th I got a call from Mr. Menon (HR – ADFC Kolkata) that a DD (bonus) of amount Rs5, 064 is lying for me at his office. I was pleasantly surprised and visited his office on 12th February at the evening straight from my school. I was told that my Phone number was not available and thats why Mr Menon had to take the number from HDFC Phonebanking unit. I came back and to my utter dismay found the date of issue of the DD was 12/8.That implies that I received a stale DD. I called up Mr Menon and conveyed the same. Firstly he was trying to state that nothing can be done. I asked whether I can help myself by writing a letter to the authorities concerned, then he said he will do the needful – but I need to submit the DD to him. As advised, my father went to Bank House and gave the DD to Mr Menon. My father asked again whether any attching letter is required. To this Mr Menon said that being the HR, he will initiate the matter and inform me when the renewed DD comes. As per his instructions my father wrote my phone number again and gave it to him.

Later, he called him up on the first week of March to which Mr Menon said that no revert has come. I thaught of not calling him every month, believing this time Mr Menon would inform us in due time.

On June 26th I again called up regarding the DD. Mr Menon in response to my inquiry started accusing me for the delay I made to enquire about the same. He stated that I made a delay of one year then reduced it to six months. When asked what was the result he stated that he is not bound to report to me and even suddenly started saying that I am using abusive language (to which I totally differ as I continuously addressed him as Sir and I used professional language). Moreover, it is not my fault and that is why I should expect the money.

Sir, now as I am thinking decisively about the whole matter, I found out some crucial flaws from the part of our HR.

1. My phone number though not updated in the database (as conveyed by Mr Menon) is always easily available from HDFC Phonebanking unit from my supervisors and fellow collogues. The day Mr Menon called HDFC Phonebanking unit he received the number from my supervisors. Thus the question is Why did Mr Menon wait till February from August to enquire about my number?

2. When my father visited Mr Menon to submit the DD he assured that being the HR he would look into the matter and showed him a thick bunch of such DDs. My question is Why was Mr Menon not having the phone numbers of all these people?

In this third world country, is it convincing to accept that ex employees are not interested or made great delay to take the hard earned money from HDFC?

Sir, you can easily enquire how many bonus DDs returned from Kolkata. Moreover, it is not our fault that the phone numbers were not there with Mr Menon. So why should I be denied any assistance from ADFC HR?

3. Is it informed that my DD needs to be reissued or it was stated that I was not present to accept the same? Please enquire whether Mr Menon actually initiated the process as committed?

4. Sir, I got The Certificate of Excellence for the period of Oct –Dec and you can surely enquire about my behaviour in my stay in office. Mr Menon is just diverting my query about my DD by telling I do not have any authority to ask for any feedback from him. When Information Act enables Indians the Right To Information how I am denied of knowing about my own due?

5. I acknowledge the fact that I was a ADFC staff working for your renowned bank, but I feel I need to inform this injustice to you- someone needs to take the ownership of the problem and try to resolve it. Before this day, I did not understand that I can be misled by Mr Menon and till now have no personal grudges against him. My unit (HDFC Phonebanking) took care of all my requirements and I got the best supervisors, thus never required Mr Menon, so never actually understood his working nature.

HDFC Phonebanking was my first job and the most important learning phase of my life. It thaught me punctuality professional etiquettes and most importantly the obligation to take ownership to the problems of HDFC customers. This is even assisting me in my present job as a senior secondary teacher of K.E Carmel School. I deeply believe this organization will always be fair and just with me.

Hope I have conveyed the actual scenario to you. It will be greatly content if I receive a feedback from your side at the earliest. I am ready to scan the Xerox copy of the DD that I have reserved for future requirement.
