Cheque not clear within one week

My ac no. is 20024359463 in bank of maharashtra. i drop my cheque monday morning 18-1-10 but it is not cleared still. its happen 2nd time with me in last five month.. please take nessery step on this matter. it is my selery cheque and i suffer too much due to not clearing my cheque
