Name Change in Bank A/c

I have applied in my bank for change in name in my saving account alongwith an affidavit & newspaper copy but the bank just refuses to do so saying their is no any provision for the same.

I have to applied for passport so please advice for the same. All my documents/id proofs are in my old name.

Kindly advice.
