Unwanted late fee charge

I have a Credit card from HDFC bank (5176521005596764), in the month of Feb 09 i did not receive my statement for which i called i called the customer service & the advisor gave me the amount which i paid but the amount given to me was Rs 18, 605/ which bank said is less & applied a charge of Rs 1563/ as late fee & finance charge, for which when i complained they reversed only Rs 1000/ & declined the rest amount saying this is been authorised by the account department, then again i was been charged the late fee saying i deposited the amount in the Pimpri HDFC Bank ATM Pune which takes 4 days for the checque to reach the main branch which is not mentioned any where because when i used to deposit the checques in the Bandarkar Road branch Pune on the due date i was never charged the late fee for which only Rs 500/ is been reversed & still i am requesting & no one from HDFC Bank have called for the update & know a person named Vijay from HDFC calls & is asking why & when am i going to pay te amount due.
