Credit Card Wrong/Fraud Billing!
Would like to know is the customer liable to pay if the signature on the disputed transactions charge-slip do not match!!! The transaction was made on 3rd and the bank was notified within 18 days about the wrong billing.
This is the case of year I received my monthly credit card statement demanding me a charge of Rs. 18, 686 where in my credit limit was only 17, 000. All 6 faulty/wrong transactions were made in Noida, UP. All the transactions were carried out on the same day which included a charge of 0.50 paisa and Rs.60.0 at a petrol pump. After bank investigation their agent reported that a duplicate card was made and swiped several times at all merchant outlets till the card stopped working. The bank at first claimed that i have lost the card and thus they are not liable under their credit card policy.
Now after lot of complaints they have reversed 3 transactions, and rest 3 they are demanding money. As per law i have agreed to pay the bank its due once they produce the original charge-slips in front of the court. The bank has once produced photocopy of 3 charge-slips that did not bear my signature on them.
Now the case is in consumer court, and still going on... If anyone can help in similar matter kindly mail at [email protected] or sms at 9871236699. The disputed amount from bank side is 52, 000 after 4 yrs of interest!
