Sir/Madam,
Reg: Intentional harassment by delaying to sanction my Home Loan Proposal in the name of address verification by HDFC .
Relying on the high promises of HDFC to provide prompt customer service, I opted to apply a home loan of Rs 24 Lac with HDFC, Seawoods Branch (Navi Mumbai) on Aug 01. My proposal was logged for processing on Aug 02.Processing fee of Rs 11030/ was debited from my A/C of Union Bank on Aug 09.
But even after 20 days it has neither been sanctioned nor is any satisfactory reply being given to me.
Sometimes it is told that it is under process and sometimes it is told that address verification is pending.
To fulfil the KYC requirement, Is it acceptable that 20 days are required for address verification to consider a proposal for sanction? Moreover bank did not delay to debit the charges for processing.
After passage of 15 days which is a prescribed maximum period by RBI for disposal of an application I contacted Madam Branch Manager Seawoods branch on 17/08 and asked the status of my proposal, then she apprised me that address of your son at Hyderabad has not been confirmed in the verification made. Then she called Mr Shishir over phone in my presence and asked him to get the reverification done on priority.
I was told to contact Mr Shishir to know further development. When I contacted Mr Shishir on 18/08, I was told by him that verification has been done twice and even your son was contacted over phone but his address could not be confirmed, hence address verification of your son is negating to consider your proposal.
When I contacted my son, he told that he never received any phone calls and security of his apartment (101, Surya Planet, shilpa Park, Kondapur, Hyderabad) where he is residing, denied that any body approached to locate the residence of Mr Anshuman or any query made about him.
Mr Shishir on my request also talked to my son and got confirmation that no call was received by him either from HDFC or its representative regarding address verification.
Manager of my son was sent an email by HDFC official to confirm his employment etc and even his (Manger’s) phone number was also taken. Manager Microsoft had responded the mail positively instantly.
Mr Shishir (HDFC) after that asked me to wait till 20/08 12 noon since 19/08 is holiday so that he may again arrange for the verification and only after that I may proceed as it deem fit and proper.
Mr Anshuman on 20/08 from Hyderabad rang to Mr Shishir at about 12 noon twice but Mr Shishir rejected the call. Then Anshuman sent message on his cell phone to know the progress but Mr Shishir did not respond.
Mr Shishir then called me and told that in operation department concerned person is not available hence it will not be possible today to get the verification done.
In one hand it is said that negative address verification report is received but when follow up is made things come in another ways. Whom to believe? I am being sandwiched in between.
But One would definitely like to know that :
What does negative report of address verification mean?
- Whether Surya planet apartment is not existing?
- If Surya apartment is existing then Whether Flat no 101 is not existing?
- If both exist then Whether Mr Anshuman Ansu is not residing in flat no 101 of Surya planet?
- If he is not residing there, then verifying authority must have reported who is residing on the said address?
- And if somebody else is residing on the said address means the rent lease agreement copy submitted as address proof and employers certificate issues as address proof is fake. And under such circumstances, trying to take loan on fake address by anybody should be dealt in what ways, Bank officials must know.
Sir/Madam, Are these not sufficient to believe that I am intentionally being harassed by quoting wrongly that verification was made twice and phone calls was made to my son which is quite contrary to the fact that no body either physically visited to verify the address of my son nor any contact was made with my son and false reporting was made that address is not being located and on this flimsy ground delay is being made for the reason best known to the officials concerned.
I very much feel guilty for breaching the commitment made by me with others assuming that my proposal shall be sanctioned in time which is unfortunately not happening.
May I hope that your intervention in the matter will help to get the process escalated and my proposal shall be sanctioned without further delay?
