Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Prashant Pati and I have a serious complaint against HDFC Life Insurance Corporation.

I have bought one flat on my native place (Bhubaneswar) and paid down payment of Rs. 350000.00 and after six month again I have received the letter from builder for next instalment of Rs. 193000/-. I unable to arrange the money, atlast I have decided to withdraw my HDFC policy (Policy No. 11053120) and on 25th Feb I have given the request for partial withdraw in Boriwali Branch and when I told them the reason of partial withdraw, they ensured me that within 7 working day money will credited on your account. I have given my new account detail (account No., cross cheque and filled application) but after 7 days also I did not received so that I have made a call to HDFC costumer care, they replied me back that there is some mistake in my NIFT detail. I said I have given all the detail to Boriwali branch so please release my cheqe but I did not received my cheque till 7th March, then I threatened her saying that I’ll complaint to IRDA. Today I have received the cheque but on the cheque the wrong account No. is mentioned.

After receiving cheque I have made a call to HDFC costumer care but CC Exe. Replied that we can’t help you on this please go to nearest branch and to get fresh cheque it will take another 10 days. There is no branch in Mira Road, so I have to take leave from my job and to visit Boriwali branch.

I need clarifications on :

1. HDFC kept my money (Rs. 188394/-) for 14 days, but there was interest given why? Why IRDA not interfering in this point because insurance companies utilising our money for their benefits and are suffering. Request you to look into the matter.

2. Because of delay from HDFC, I could not make payment to my builder on time and now he is demanding a penalty of Rs. 20000/-. So will HDFC will pay this penalty.

3. HDFC company has made mistake (wrong A/C No. on my cheque) so they should issue a new/fresh cheque to me, why should I run around them, spend time & money for their mistake. Please look into the matter because HDFC company literally harassing me to release my money. While issuing the policy they (HDFC) commits all wrong thing but when we need our money back, they creates 1000 new rules to hold our money.

4. I have spoke to many customer care executives regarding my complaints earlier also but there was no response from HDFC.
