ICICI bank illegally withholding my money

ICICI bank in the UK is illegally withholding money from my matured account. I have tried and tried to resolve this with them, but they are so arrogant and unwilling to sort out the matter in any reasonable time scale that I have now contacted the Financial Ombudsman (Case ref: 9230039) to intervene.

The bank failed to change my nominated account details last November when I completed a Direct Debit form which they very reluctantly sent to me. I also notified the change by telephone and attempted to do it on-line, but the latter was so complex I doubt whether it worked. The bank claim that they have no knowledge of this change. Since 29 Jan I have contacted the bank DAILY by phone and Email to attempt to sort this out, but no-one is willing to help. All I get is profuse apologies and the promise of calls back which never happen and still the matter is unresolved. All I want is an immediate transfer of funds to my nominated account. I have given the account details at least 5 times since 29/1, but to no effect. Withholding this money is illegal and I want it into my nominated account by close of business today 04/02. Failure to do so will result in legal action against the bank. I also want due compensation for the stress caused and interest lost since 23/01. This has soley been caused by the incompetence of ICICI bank and its unwillingness to sort the matter out or give me access to anyone in the bank who can.

I expect an immediate response.
