1) In 2009 when I asked for a connection, I was asked to pay over Rs 5000 and compulsorily take the stove and accessories even though I had already got these in my house. I had to donate my old stove and accessories to my maid. And I did not even get a receipt for the whole amount. The papers were not given to me. The gas was delivered at home and the delivery boy asked for money as tip (at least 100 rs or more)
2) The gas agency asked me to submit a Leave and License agreement as my address proof at time to making my payment. Clearly the landlord has handed over the flat to me for my personal use. The landlord did not need the gas connection, I did. To my shock I found that papers were made in the name of my landlord and not in my name due to their mistake. While taking the money they never told me that the connection will be on landlords name and it will not be owned by me. They delivered the papers to me one year after I purchased the gas connection and did not even apologize for the mistake in printing the name, leave alone trying to rectify the error.. In-fact they said - "Why should I apologize". Now even though I have purchased the connection, it is on my landlord's name and I cannot use it once I leave this house
3) The lady there at Rajpal and Co. who seems to be the owner is very rude and has no customer service training or skills. When I went to meet her she did not even look up and talk to me properly. She was busy looking at papers. She said - "I have 10, 000 customers."
4) After I complained at the HP website she got my number and called me up and shouted angrily at me because I complained against her on the company HP website. Looks like the HP customer service team sent her all my details.
5) I am unable to change my vendor to another one at Hill Road Bandra, who seems to be more polite and helpful. It seems there is a monopoly. The monopoly of these vendors ensures they do whatever they like and no-one can raise any voice against them. They are spoiling the brand name of HP gas. Moreover when we complain against the distributor on the company's website our number and complaint goes directly to the distributor itself and they start calling and threatening us. This lady asked me to give me her address and name and sounded very angry that I complained against her and refused to accept any of her above mentioned mistakes.
What a sad state of affairs!!!
