I am writing to lodge a formal complaint against ICICI bank which practices fraudulent banking. I opened an NRI account in 2005 at the Vishakhapatnam branch. My statements from the bank were always late in arrival or sent to a wrong address. Ultimately, ICICI placed my account as inactive and began deducting service fees. When I found out about this I requested closure of my account. I completed the necessary paperwork but was told it could not be done via the mail. I then went in person to a branch in Mumbai where I, again, filled out the necessary paperwork and submitted official identification docuements. Six months later I have not seen a penny but they continue to deduct service fees. When I call ICICI bank, they say they will investigate and call back but they never do. Finally, I spoke to two people who say I did not complete the forms correctly. I was told to complete them again and re-submit. This is just a joke and they are playing a game. This is how they steal your money. The government of India needs to investigate and a class action lawsuit must be brought against these cheaters and liars.
