Non refund of Income Tax for Assessement Year 2007 - 2008

Sir,

I am a regular Tax Payer under the PAN No. AHDPC3561A. Due to my late declaration / submission of Savings during Assessement Year 2007 - 2008 I had to make excess payment of Income Tax of Rs. 10, 829.00 and pending for refund since then. My father has visited number of times to concern Assessing Officer of Ward No. 14/5 at HMT Bhawan, Bangalore and every time he has been promisied to get settlement within very short period, as the Central Processing Unit is processing the assessment.

All the time he has been assured to wait for some more time but all promises has gone in vain. Now it is alomost 3 years is going to be over and I do not know the status of my assessment and refund for assessement year 2007 - 2008.

Should I forget to get refund or I may please be informed what I should do?
