Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Harsh and I'm currently residing in Bangalore near old Airport Road. I wanted to get a locker facility with a bank so I went down to some bank branches to inquire about a locker facility. Much to my surprise these banks were ready to cease this opportunity to cease money while allocating me a locker.
State Bank of India (IndiraNagar, Bangalore Branch) asked me for a deposit 3 lacs for a period of 3 years.
Same way South Indian Bank asked for 2 lacs, Axis Bank asked for 1 lac, Canara Bank (Thippsandra) asked me for 50 thousand and Citibank asked for 30 lacs as a deposit. Some banks even refused to even allot me a locker when I showed some reluctance in investment with their bank to name one is Oriental Bank of Commerce which ha d lockers available till I showed reluctance in paying up a huge some of money but suddenly the manager over there was not sure of locker availability when I showed reluctance.
I guess this is not the policy for allocation of lockers to individuals.
Please let me know if this is the case since I'm not well versed with the banks' financial policies and if I'm justified in my protest please take some action against the banks.
Thanks,
Harsh Setia
