Subject: Grill Installation at home and Complain against one fraud of order supplier.
Dear Sir,
I (Dr. Tarun Kumar Gangopadhyay) am a senior scientist in Central Glass & Ceramic Research Institute (CGCRI), a CSIR laboratory, Govt. of India, situated in Jadavpur, Kolkata, 700032.
I am staying in an old house at 28/A, Shahnagar Road, Po: Kalighat, Kolkata-700026. I would like to install Iron Grill at east side of my residence (Gr. Floor) above for which I have collected quotations (price of expenditure) from different manufacturers of Iron Grill, at South Kolkata. As per market search, I have got lowest quotation from M/s National Industrial Enterprises (Proprietor Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh), 36E, Harish Chatterjee Street, Kolkata-700 026. Proprietor Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh came to see the work place in my residence at least three times and finally on 16th May he quoted a rate @ Rs40/- per square feet and the total price amounting to Rs. 20, 000/= (Twenty Thousand only).
(1) On 16th May he came to my house and submitted the quotation on the letter head of M/s. National Industrial Enterprises and signed by Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh. The details/quantity of the work has been mentioned on his quotation (hand written by Mr. Singh).
(2) He assured that the work will start within one week and it will be finished by 28th May.
(3) He claimed an advance money of Rs 5000/- (five thousand only) by cash. In this context, I have expressed my view that I can pay the advance money only by cheque to keep some records. He (Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh.) denied cheque payment to avoid Income Tax payment rules.
(4) On 17th May finally, I have paid the advance money (Rs.5000/-) by cheque vide No. 837960, SBI, Jadavpur University Branch. As per bank statement the money has been transferred to the a/c of Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh on clearing date 19th May.
(5) After that, a long time has been passed (11 months) but the work has not been started. Each and every week I am requesting Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh over telephone (M: 9433358793) to carry out the work but it has not been started till date. I have tried to contact the office of M/s. National Industrial Enterprises over telephone (Ph.2455-6324) where I have placed my request to carry out the work to his brother and other staff members of the company. But there is no result till date.
(6) I have also mentioned Mr. Ajay Kr. Singh that if he is not interested to work, he can return the advance money but he is not ready to give it back.
Now in this situation, I need your help and suggestion, what I should do. As there is no iron grill at the east side of my residence, thieves are entering into the premises at night. I often go to official tours in India and abroad for research work. As a result many valuable things have been stolen from the premises (Micro oven, Iron bucket, Iron rod etc. have been stolen when I was in Italy), during my absence in the flat. Hence, it was decided to make grill fencing at the east side of the boundary.
At this moment we are at crucial situation, whether M/s. National Industrial Enterprises will complete the work order (as per quotation) or they will refund the advance money (Rs. 5000/-). At any means I need to arrange grill fencing and complete this job done.
