To whom soever this may concern,
I have a sever grievance against Punjab state electricity board. They officers are running this institution as their own fiefdom and have harassed us to no end.
the nature of the complaint is that we have been functioning at our premises in Mohali Industrial area for the last 5 years without any hindrance. Suddenly 2 months back we get a notice saying that we are using electricity for commercial usage and not industrial and are levied with a charge of Rs. 58000 . They force fully come and remove our electricity meter and stop electricity. Work has come come to a stand still because of this
To this we try to challenge and complain but to no avail. the consumer complaint department does not even accept our complaint letter. we try to pay half the amount, to at least restore the electricity so that we can continue our operations, but they do not allow this.
Points of contention :
1) we are very much an industrial IT firm providing backend services to banks of Punjab. there are various other IT firms also existing in that area. None of the other companies have been levied such an absurd amount.
2) refusal to take our challenge letter and complaint, thus leaving us helpless for the sole purpose of extorting money.
3) If we are now a commercial establishment, which i know we are not, as we are not a retail operation of any kind. No adequate notice was given to us to inform us of the new govt. rule .there are various other companies, who have not been charged this as i am sure they have paid off the corrupt employees. We go the legal and correct way and this is the result we get…..a shame on the government.
this situation now leaves us with no option but to go to court as i refuse to pay such an absurd amount as we are a small company.
I implore someone to help in this matter as the SDO has refused any assistance and our operations have been stopped due to this bullying.
