VAT Imposed by Anti-Evasion, Sales Tax, Rajasthan on Software Development, Modification and AMC Bills

Dear Sir,

I run a Software company in the name of Pioneer Software Systems, Kota, Rajasthan which deals in developing customized software, doing modifications in existing software and giving annaual maintenance support to customers in and around Kota, Rajasthan region.

Recently Sales Tax Anti-Evasion CTO has imposed VAT on our billing from April onwards on all types of bills, whereas as per Government Service Tax notification software development (customized), modifications, maintenance contracts are covered under service tax.

We has given all proofs of the above fact to the Anti-Evasion Department but they have not listned to us and imposed a heavy tax liablility and double the penalty on us.

Please help us in this matter.
