Fraud/False Commitments.
Recently i got a call claiming that they are calling from SBI credit cards and announced that i have been selected in the previlage circle club and i'm being offered a exclusive holiday of 2N/3D an air ticket and a branded polo club watch worth Rs.4800/- . I failed to check the reviews and assuming that the call is from SBI which has got reputation i gave my consensus to debit an amount of Rs. 6067/- . I told them to debit the amount on 18th OCT since my billing cycle date fell on 17th. They agreed for the same and immediately the next day (12th Oct) i was debited. Since i always make full payments on the card and do not carry forward, this amount was a burden to clear. Below are the point by point fraud commitments they make.
1. They call you and tell they are calling from SBI credit cards and they have all our details. They never tell that they are calling from Plat5 Consultancy
2. They tell they are offering 4 or 5 star hotel stay for 2N/3D. The hotels mentioned on the voucher do not even qualify for 2 Star category. If you check the rates directly with the hotel you will get better rates directly. I checked with few hotels mentioned.
3. The hotels cannot be booked in the holiday seasons and long weekends and new year season period. And the most funniest part is the booking can be confirmed only after 4 Months after the voucher is received. And we should give the choice of 3 hotels and 3 different dates and before 21 days. Hence it is some what like lottery draw, you cannot zero in where you have to go.
4. It was promised that as a part of the gift a Hi- branded wrist watch worth Rs. 4800/- will be given. But received a watch with MRP marked Rs.2499/- and the watch looked completely local which is easily available in any Electronics market in the range of Rs.500 to 700.
5. Only after receiving the courier packet with voucher No 677255 i came to know that some Plat5 Consultants are running this program. But i was surprised how the SBI has given them the access to view our credit card details. And the SBI clearly claims in terms and conditions that they will not be responsible for any thing and have got nothing to do with plat5 consultants services.
6. Once i got the voucher (677255) i went thru the terms and conditions published on the website. It clearly says that the customer can return the package within 30 days of receipt and the amount charged will be refunded less Rs.399/- .
7. When i called the customer care ph nos available along with the packet. They told that i cannot return and there is no refundable policy. When i told that i want to return as per the terms and conditions. They told they can refund only if they have mis committed. Now when i told them to debit after 17th Oct why did they debit my card on 12th Oct. They told they will be giving accommodation in 4 or 5 star hotels. the hotels in the list (for eg. The Mass Hotel Pondicherry, Sagar Resorts ooty) does not even qualify for the 2 stars. They told that holiday voucher will be valid for one year but on the voucher it has mentioned specific date by which it needs to be utilised and that happen to be only 8 months period. They never told that we need to send a small coupon attached to the voucher authorizing to debit further Rs. 250/- . Only then the voucher will be validated. Doesn't the above points qualify for mis selling... They told that if i return the packet they will not take any responsibility of receipt and process for refund, Thus forcing us to swallow and suffer with it.
With this i want to warn the friends not to fall prey for this latest frauds and get committed to suffer. Even if one friend gets saved after reading the above i will satisfy myself that i have educated and saved someone from suffering at the hands of Palt5 Consultants.
