I am working in Atos Origin Ind. Pvt Ltd as Sr. Sys admin and had joined this organisation 2 years back. During my joining i was told that the notice period of the company would be 2 months and can change as per the policy. Couple of months back we received mail form our HR department stating that the notice period is extended to 3 months with immediate effective from tomorrow. This was bit surprising but had to follow the Org policies.
I got a good job oppurtunity from an reputed organisation and i resigned from my current rgainisation. I asked my current employer to reduce my notice period to 1 / 2 months with buy-out option. But to my surprise this was rejected by my HR and told me to stay for full 3months of my notice period. I had to miss that oppurtunity as my new employer was not ready to wait so long (as they were ready to buy notice period)
I would like to know if i can take any legal actions against my organisation in this case; ant its not only my concerns but many of us cant change job due to this factor.
