Bank Complaint
Cheating done by IDBI Bank in recruiting Assistant Managers

By writing this to you, I would like to bring your kind notice towards the injustice done by IDBI Bank. IDBI Bank Laid down the advertisement for the post of Assistant Manager Grade-A in December Bank has charged Rs. 350 for the Application fee and the Eligibility criteria for this post laid down by the bank is as follows:

“Min 1 year experience in a Bank, Financial services organization, etc (Direct Contractual experience with a Bank would also be considered) Assignment/s would be in Banks Retail Operations (Assets/Liabilities), corporate/priority sector/SME Lending Central/Regional Processing unit, and other areas of banking.”

I have applied for this post after satisfying myself with the eligibility criteria laid down by the bank. I was appeared for the written exam and cleared the written examination held on 1st February and received an interview call from IDBI Bank for 8th May. On that day I was interviewed after checking all the documents related to my education and experience by a group of officers of IDBI Bank and was declared selected. Candidates who do not fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the bank were rejected on the very same day and were not allowed for appearing in the interview. I was issued a pre recruitment health check letter from IDBI Bank stating to undergo the health check & report immediately to BMO IDBI along with the Medical reports at IDBI Bank, Red cross building, New Delhi. I got myself medically examined and declared fit by both the Apollo Clinic as well as by the BMO IDBI. The Bank Medical officer has charged a sum of Rs 300 as the medical examination fees and I was told that the fees will be reimbursed at the time of joining the Bank. Sir it’s almost year to go I did not received the appointment letter from the IDBI Bank. In the month of August I had a word with HR person in IDBI Head office, Mumbai, they told me that my experience with Royal Bank of Scotland group is not acceptable to them..Sir, I was shocked to hear this as I was permitted to undergone for the interview after satisfying all the eligibility conditions.

Sir, As there was all reasons to be sure of my selection I resigned from my previous employment with the Royal Bank of Scotland and relieved from there on 8th July. The IDBI cheated me and hundreds of other candidates like me by not making a clear cut policy for the eligibility criteria. If they had denied me at the time of interview I would not have resigned from Royal Bank of Scotland. IDBI has spoiled my career without my fault. At one side IDBI has not accepted my experience with the Royal Bank of Scotland and on the other side they again called fresh applications for the Assistant Manager post without any experience. If the IDBI do not want experience candidates now for this post, what harm will done if they select candidates like me who have cleared the all the procedure for the recruitment.

Sir, I request your honour to look in to the matter and advice IDBI Bank suitably.
