Shriram value services – Fraud
Hi all,
I am Mr. Idiot. I identify myself with such a name because i consider that i am most idiotic person in this whole world for being associated with this company (Shriram value services).
I am an MBA 2011 pass out from a college in Chennai and after finishing my MBA i started looking for jobs outside in the market. A decent job with a good pay for someone from an average college is very hard to find but i was sincerely hunting for one and then this tragedy happened.
I got a call on 21st Oct’11 from Shriram value services stating that there is opening for Management Trainee with Shriram Group and the interview is scheduled on 22nd Oct’11 at 1.00 PM at their Branch Office in Guindy (They have closed it now). Since one of my friend was also looking for jobs i took him with me to this so called interview. We were seated in the reception and there were others with us who also came for this but they were for different positions (i assumed so).
We were called in together for this so called interview and we were made to meet Ms. Kavitha (I didn’t know her designation at that time). She introduced herself by her name and started asking us some stupid questions which were nowhere near our curriculum or calibre. I grew suspicious at one point of time and asked whether this is really an interview and she opened up stating that they are in need of nearly 25 HR Management trainees for their Group of companies and they have a ‘HR on the job training program’ which costs Rs.10000 and only after taking that they would take us into their company. She spoke all fancy words to make us believe that this was all real and she mainly stated the following:

The training cost - Rs.10000
Duration - 9 days
Starting Date - 27th Oct’11 (Next day after Deepavali)
Topics - Payroll administration, Recruitment, T&D.
Members of Program - MBA graduates of 2011 (25 in number)
Manager - Ms. Rupa Sangili
Ms. Kavitha’s
Fake Promises - After completion of this program i would be absorbed as MT in Hr dept of
Shriram value services for a salary of 2.40lakhs/Annum.
-Only two seats left and we must pay an advance of Rs.100 to confirm our seat in the program and should pay the remaining amount on 24thOct’11 (RS.9900).(All Bill copies given by them are scanned and will be attached soon)
-The course is on HR activities like Payroll administration, Recruitment, T&D
-The classes are staring on 27th Oct’11 (Next day after Deepavali)
-Placement activities will start with Ms. Rupa Sangili on the second day after
the completion of the program.
-This is the 4th training batch that is being started and placement has been successfully arranged for all previous batches.(the most Potent of the lies)
Since i was an idiot as i declared before, me and my friend paid Rs.100 on the same day and the remaining Rs.9900 on 24th oct. This money was taken as a loan on interest from a money lender cause i did not want to trouble my parents for this.
This fraud lady Ms. Kavitha was all smiles as i gave her the money and wished us all the best for our futures and promised our jobs and our futures are in the right hands and we can go home and say to our parents proudly that we have got our jobs for good.(She also used some High Profile names in side Shriram value services like the Vice – President’s and the HR Senior Manager’s name but am not using them because i am not sure if they were also involved in this.)
Since my monthly salary as promised would be around Rs.20000 i thought i would easily pay my debt of Rs.10000 with interest during my first month at Shriram value services.
The Reality:
We were waiting eagerly for the classes to begin on 27th Oct but we faced our first hurdle there.
No classes started on 27th Oct as promised and when we went there and enquired Ms. Kavitha said that some of the students who had enrolled had gone for their native places and had asked for rescheduling of classes to 1st Nov and so we must wait.(Since i am an idiot i believed this one too)
We went there again on 1st Nov only to find another lame reason from that Fraud Ms. Kavitha that the training manager Ms. Rupa Sangili is not available and the classes would start on 7th Nov. (Since i am an idiot i believed this one too)
We went there on 7th Nov and Ms. Kavitha was on Leave that day and we were introduced to Ms. Latha (Fraud No.2) and she came up with another story that the previous batches’ placement activities are happening and that is the reason for the delay in classes.. (Since i am an idiot i believed this one too).
This happened for a while and every time we went there Ms. Kavitha (Fraud no.1) and Ms. Latha (Fraud No.2) would make up some lies and would convince us that we are a part of their organisation and it took a month for us to find out that no such batch has been conducted before and this is the first batch.
Enraged and disappointed because of being fooled by two employees from Shriram value services me and my friend decided to get our money back and look for jobs outside because it was already very late and we were wasting the most important 3 months of our life.
Ms. Latha (Fraud No.2) when contacted for getting our money back started giving us all sorts of lies just to stop us getting our money. She was able to hold us back for about 2 weeks with all her lies. (Since i am an idiot i believed this too). She tried everything like No staffs, No classroom, No study material, Placement officer on leave sort of lies and stretched for sometime.
One fine day we decided that everything is enough and gave a visit to their Head Office at Chaitanya Exotica at Venkatramana Road, T.Nagar to complain and enquire about this program. They simply reverted us back to Guindy office and said that Ms. Rupa Sangili is the deciding authority behind this and we must only speak with her to get our money back. The same day we went straight from H.O to guindy branch and met Ms. Kavitha (Fraud no.1) who said that the classes would start at 12th dec and she cannot give us our money back due to company policy.
Finally the classes started on 12th dec but we had a very very huge shock and disappointment waiting there. It was the day i realized that i am the biggest fool on this planet.
The Class:
The Class that happened was a complete Fake.
We enrolled for a course in HR Practises but the actual course was on RESUME WRITING AND INTERVIEW PREPARATION (As promised against HR course, just imagine our situation there).
We all looked like a bunch of fools and idiots who were trumped up by two employees of Shriram value services.
Actual Happenigs there:
Members - Only 11 (5 MBAs, 3 B.Es, 2 B.Com, and 1 Biotechnology student)
Course - RESUME WRITING AND INTERVIEW PREPARATION
We were put into a class and were taught the basics of Resume and interview preparation by Shriram Value services.
I REALLY REGERET TO SAY THAT THAT WAS THE DAY I CRIED AFTER A VERY LONG TIME.
IMAGINE OUR SITUATUION, AFTER COMPLETING MBA WE WERE PUT INTO A CLASS AND WERE TAUGHT ABOUT HOW TO SHAKE HANDS, HO W TO SAY ‘HELLO’ TO AN INTERVIEWER, HOW TO WEAR SHOES, HOW TO OPEN THE DOOR WHILE ENTERING AN INTERVIEW HALL.
I EVEN WENT THRO’ ALL THIS SHIT KEEPING IN MIND THAT WE ARE GOING THRO’ THIS NONSENSE FOR A REASON. SINCE IAM AN IDIOT I STILL BELIEVED THEM.
“Even the trainers who were there told us that we have made a big mistake by coming here and advised us not to pay any money to any company which promises job if we join a course whatever their reputation may be”
The present situation:
Ms. Rupa Sangili who is the manager there was not picking our phone calls and even if she picked she would say that she is not available at office. We went there about 15 times just to be humiliated and cursed.
Ms. Rupa sangili openly called us fools for believing their false words.
She openly said that the sales team will always lie and we are scapegoats for believing their false promises. She was simply trying to avoid us by any means because she was the head of the sales team and she was solely responsible for all our sufferings.
Once we tried to meet the director of the company who is at Shriram capital (Head office) to explain our pathetic situation and show him how the employees of shriram has spoiled our future. But again Ms. Rupa Sangili showed up there and spoke with us for 30 mins trying to convince us that she is still working towards our placement and our future is in their safe hands. SINCE IAM AN IDIOT I STILL BELIEVED THEM. I believed them because my situation was so pathetic.
At that time when we demanded to meet the director, Ms. Rupa Sangili told us that “the director of the company has complete knowledge of this malpractice in the company and he has asked us to Freak out of the corporate office space because our course has ended and they are not responsible anymore” Mr. Director sir – Am not sure if this is true but these are the very words that were spoken by Ms. Rupa Sangili. At one point of time she openly challenged us to do anything and seek anyone’s help but it will not bear any fruit.
Because of her even some good hearts in the company refrained themselves from helping them and she even evidently criticised those who came to our help saying that they do not have any power since they are also just managers like her.
PRESENT SITUATION:
JOBLESS, HUMILIATED EVERYWHERE, VERY LOW ON CONFIDENCE BECAUSE OF WHAT HAPPENED TO ME AT THEIR HANDS, WITH NO CLEAR LIGHT WE ARE IN DARK BADLY IN NEED OF SOME HELP. IT IS MY SITUATION AND THAT OF SOME OF MY BATCH MATES AT SHRIRAM VALUE SERVICES ARE EVEN WORSE. THEY CALL ME UP AND SOB UNCONTROLLABLY AND I AM PUSHED TO A POINT TO COMFORT THEM BUT THE SORRY PLIGHT IS THERE IS NO ONE TO COMFORT ME.
WE RESORTED TO THIS ONLY AFTER TRYING BY ALL MEANS TO REACH THE MANAGEMENT OF SHRIRAM VALUE SERVICES. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT TO DISREPUTE THE COMPANY THIS IS DONE JUST TO SHOW TO ALL THOSE WHO ARE BADLY IN NEED OF A JOB THAT THEY SHOULD NOT FALL PREY TO PREDATORS LIKE MS.KAVITHA, MS.RUPA SANGILI OR MS. LATHA. THEY ARE THE ONES WHO USE OUR URGENCY AND POVERTY TO THEIR BENEFIT.
WE ARE DEFINITELY IN NEED OF HELP AND SO IF THERE ARE SOME GOOD HEARTS WHO CAN HELP US IN BRINGING THEM TO JUSTICE PLS LEAVE A COMMENT AND WE LL CONTACT YOU.
