The company, Horizon Inc, which calls itself to be a division of the international COBRA Plc, is one of the biggest frauds. Having been a victim of this company & its fraud, today I am in a position to throw light on the same.
This company claims itself to be London based, wherein there is nothing in Horizon thats London based. The company is being run by Kshitij Gandhi. He recruits u as a Management Trainee and there is nothing related to management in the same. The ads that they give on various job portals and mails are very attractive. This company claims that it gives training in different sectors like Telecom, banking, and others. As a matter of fact, in India, Support Direct India, which is a division of COBRA Plc, is the only one thats active. COBRA had different divisions like APPCO, Support Direct, AlSports, Granton etc. Under Support Direct, the company generates funds for HelpAge India and CRY, which are great NGOs. The job profile basically talks about xyz things, but u have to do just one thing, and that is, to generate funds for HelpAge and CRY, roaming door to door. For this, believe me, you dont need to even be a graduate! It is pure sales.
As an MBA, I thought of this to be a good opportunity and joined the company. I was told that as a part of training, I have to be on the field for just 6 days and do this, but it continued. The worst part is, HelpAge and CRY are genuine NGOs which are working, but here Kshitij Gandhi makes everyone speak a hell lot of lies! For example, some programmes of HelpAge have already been scrapped, while Kshitij still talks of the same and gets cheques from people.
The question is, how this fraud takes place and why? The answer is simple. For example, for every cheque of Rs. 1000 that Horizon collects for HelpAge, HelpAge pays 300 rs to COBRA. Out of which Rs 165 goes to the fundraiser, while 100 rs goes to Kshitij (he being the owner of Horizon Inc) and rest 35 goes to Cobra. The more are the funds, the more Kshitij earns. So ultimately, u - under the tag of being a trainee, go door to door and raise funds, while Kshitij sits in the office and earns for what u do.
The recruitments in Cobra's all Indian divisions are 24*7. Everyday they have to recruit people. 2 reasons for the same.
1. The more no. of people, the more would be funds raised - the more benefits to Kshitij.
2. High ratio of people leaving the job, as in a short period, they realise that they have been cheated.
There is none in the company, who is more than 1 yr old except Kshitij himself! All others are max to max 6 to 8 months old. So u can understand whats going on!! Thats the reason they recruit day to day.
I have gone through various sites, which simply show that the company is a cheat! So, are all people of Cobra also involved in this fraud? So many complaints have been registered, and still Kshitij is there and so is Horizon and Sky and Dawn!! I believe that there is a big racket. I am sure that HelpAge also knows about the same and is involved in the fraud, or else how can they let this happen?
They claim that they pay weekly. While I did not get any salary for the entire month. When I told Kshitij that I want to leave the job, they terminated me!! When I asked for my salary, they declined to give before 3 months. They had just given me an appointment letter, but not the offer letter, where there was no mention of salary. Everything was verbal about the salary and benefits. There is nothing that is black and white (on paper). Everything is verbal. Right from u step into the office, all the people will hide some or the other thing!
The calls and mails are sent on the name of Kavita, Priyanka or Gaurav from Horizon or Sky Inc. There is no one in the admin who is of these names. Kavita is actually Trupti, Priyanka is Taufia and Gaurav is Abhishek. :) When the admin starts lying from the first stage itself... u can understand that this is a fraud. If this is a genuine company, I dont think if anyone has to lie.
My sincere and serious request to all u guys... please don't get involved in such fraud company. U will not get any work ex certificate. Arre... u would not get any experience itself. When u will leave the company, they will not give u a work ex certificate saying that they have terminated u. No PF, no other benefits, no on-time salaries, no salary accounts. Guys beware of this Cobra Plc Indian companies like Horizon and Sky and Dawn and Millennium and many more. Ur career would be big time screwed!!
