Hello Readers,
I would like to draw your attention on the problem of Indian employees who are working in small firms like proprietorship based enterprise or small private limited firms.
These enterprises are not following any employment law in the country and employees waste their time, money and talent in applying for the job in such enterprises.
1) Job portals and newspapers are just interested to make money by posting ads of such companies on their website and newspapers.
2) Candidates submit their resume and they are called for the personal interview, without sending their information on job profile, salary package, working hours etc..
3) Upon their visit to the Employer's office, many times boss is not there and they have to wait for hours, interviewers ask several questions but do not tell about their company profile, and by chance if candidate asks any question for his/her right/knowledge, one thing become sure that he/she is marked as unsuitable.
4) Very often no appointment letter is issued. He is forced to work extra hours without any incentive.
5) Candidate is not paid or asked to come again and again to collect his dues, which is rarely paid if the candidate decide to quit the position due to the image and working condition of the employer which he/she comes to know only after working few days.
6) Candidates come and go in such enterprises on daily basis and employers enjoy free services from each such candidate.
7) Many times it is seen that in such firm there is not holiday, even if it is a govt. holiday.
8) Candidate join for one post and he/she is given job responsibilities from peon to manager. Even sometime job responsibilities are given which he/she does not hold qualification or experience. If candidate tries to do that job, surely he makes mistake and get shouting of boss.
9) There are several other problems which an Indian job seekers face while searching for a good job and working in a small enterprise.
In our country, due to the number of job seekers, employers have advantage of to find the most needy person and hence employees live an unsatisfied job life and either sit at home unemployed for many months or accept all kind of terms of such employers.
There is a need to apply some laws to protect Indian Employees so that their talent is used properly and they are paid for what they deserve.
It would be a great help for Indian Employees if our govt. make a law for every Indian employer to register a document of employment of a candidate with complete terms & conditions immediately when a candidate joins.
Also each employee should ask to submit his/her employment status to govt. so that govt. can know the exact position of Indian employment in private sector and such employers are forced to follow Indian employment laws.
It would be nice to form an All India / State / City Association of Indian Employees to share their views and get guidance to handle injustice in private sectors.
Thanks for your comments, your experience and support,
Suraj Singh
