I was looking for part time work in the newspaper when I looked upon the advertisement of NET WORLD. The same day, 08-July I along with my wife visited their office at Kalkaji, New Delhi and met their representative (Sana). We were told the following-
1. For first project with us, the total pages will be about 180-200 and will be simple to be submitted in 8 days and all work included typing from jpg scanned images to MS-Word file. Each page will at priced at Rs 150/-.
2. We were shown a few sample files from the source CD and there was no mention of any complexity involved.
3. Also that we will have to register with them @ Rs. 1650/- that will be refundable after first successful completion of the project.
We needed work to earn some additional money and there read and signed their agreement copy and paid the registration. amount.
When we started the work, it looked like monsterous to us. Instead of 8 complete days, it was little more than 7 days to us. However, me and my wife worked hard day and night and completed all that could have been done. The dictionay pages were bit difficult because of numerous full-stops and commas (there were instruction guideliness to work and that missing will count to errors and below certain accuracy level, would affect the payment). In our of our problems, we consulted their customer service number (9999333492) and we got two different response from their two different executives for one same issue. We did not attempt about 36/184 pages that were of dictionary type where the full stops and comma were numerous and misleading. On the appointed day 15-July we submitted all 184 files as instructed with 36 files having the content {PENR} which means page ot clear.
Today we received an email from NET WORLD regarding the termination of our contract and when we spoke to them about it, they were talking about the contract and all and that nothing else can be done.
This is a pure matter of cheating with legal formalities (of which I am a victim). I therefore request the Consumer forum to act in this matter and help me recover my amount for the work. I know that my completed 148 files are in good condition and they will use it in their benefit. I lost my registration amount and also payment to my work and on the other hand, NET WORLD earned my registration money and also my entire work.
If there is nothing that can be done in this case, then it will give me a lot of opportunity to do business in a similar manner. But being a responsible citizin of India, I do not wish to undertake such a step, until otherwise.
