Defective Surface Treatment on the ca

Dear Sir,

I had purchased a Chevy Optra in the year 2005 on 26/01/05 under the West bengal registration no WB02 T 4843 .

About 3 months back, the paint on the car started to get swollen on all the four gates and on some body parts as well.

On observing the same, i brought it to the notice of the calcutta dealer, M/s India Automobiles from whom the car was purchased but they declined to help stating that the car was out of warranty.

When the same was brought to the notice of the EAST sales regional office, Mr Jairam (09378001434) & Mr Gagandeep (09331212853) asked me to send the vehicle at the workshop of M/s India Automobiles at Justice Madhav Ch Road, kolata and made an assessment that the doors needed replacement as the entire patch was rusty and the replacement would cost Rs 95, 000 for the Two doors on one side of the car of which he agreed to re-imburse 50% from the company's side.

He could only agree to such a case as he thought deemed fit as it was a manufacturing surface treatment defect which resulted in the car's paint getting swollen and bursting into deep rust cracks and craters.

I would appeal to the Consumer forum to address this long pending issue and ask the company to replace / re-paint the car & compensate me for the harrassment for no fault of mine
