NEVER BUY ANY GENERAL MOTORS VEHICLE

Dear Sir / Madam,

My vehicle is Spark LS owned on 3rd September from Gopinathji Agencies, Baroda, Gujarat. Registration No. is GJ 6 CM 7815.

Till mid of everything was ok and obviously, will be because vehicle is new.

1. My trouble started after around 40000 km, where first time I have faced trouble of both rear wheel jam. I have to spend petrol almost worth Rs. 1800 to travel 160 km (From Surat to Baroda). Next day, I have visited the dealer Gopinathji, according to them, everything was OK. They were not ready to even recognize the problem. After repeated requests to check throrughly, they have agreed that, wheels are SLIGHTLY? jam. They have opened the rear wheels, one bearing and one wheel cylinder has to be replaced under warranty.

2. After that, as per schedule, they have replaced all rubber belts including Timing Belt. Immediately after that service, I have noticed unexpected engine firing and sluggish engine performance. Repeatedly I have drawn their attention, but, again, same typical reply, Everything is OK... After the replacement of timing belt, almost 35000 km of running, one service adviser noticed the problem and to my great surprise, The Timing Belt was LOOSE. He fixed it and engine performance backed to normal. At higher RPM, anything could happen to the engine of my vehicle, WHO is RESPONSIBLE for any accidents?

3. Second time, front right hand side brake caliper was jam. Even after repeated complains of wheel jams, service advisers of Gopinathji kept on saying, it is OK. Somehow, I was able to manage them to convince, they have replaced front Right Hand Side (RHS) shock absorber, Front RHS Disc under warranty. My question is, if everything was OK, why they have to replace anything?

4. Now, latest problem was Break. Very less breaking. No emergency breaking is possible. Even I stand on break padal, car stops at its own pace. They tried to convince me that, my vehicle is now almost 2 years 10 months old, driven 95000 km, so, breaking will be like that only. If you want proper breaking, you have to replace everything related to breaking like, all calipers, break pads, drums, disks, Master Cylinder, Booster, etc... etc... The question is, if General Motors claims quality car, trumpating about the quality and sturdiness of the vehicles, is this a quality of GM vehicles? If quality is good (And I believe, quality is good), there is only other possibility left which is, My vehicle is not properly maintained even after paying them Rs. 900 (600 300 for service plus?) Plus charges of routine consumables regularly after every 5000 km as per the schedule.

They have diagnosed that, Master Cylinder and Booster have to be replaced. Even my vehicle is under warranty, I offered them to pay because I cannot take breaking issue lightly because it is related with safety of myself, my family and third party vehicles in city. Part was not readily available with Gopinathji. They took almost 15 to 20 days to attend critical issue like breaking and charged me Rs. 4050.

I thought, this must be the end of the long continued trouble but, even after replacement of Master Cylinder and Booster, first... second and third padal, vacuum lost and car don't stops any more.

Now I seriously doubt, Are they playing with my life purposely? I really FAD UP of the HORRIBLE after sales service from Gopinathji. I am repenting for owning the GM vehicle. I will never ever buy GM vehicle anymore and even recommend any vehicle to anybody.

After this email, next day I have received nasty email from the dealer Gopinathji, saying everything is OK, they have done everything as per the GM norms, etc... etc...

Since 16th August GM customer care is silent and after repeated reminders, they are not responding.

BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH GM IS, THEIR SPARES ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN MARKET AND YOU HAVE TO DEPEND ON DEALER. NOW, I HAVE ONLY OPTION TO REPLACE THE CAR WITH ANY OTHER MAKE WITHIN 3 YEARS.

PLEASE... PLEASE... NEVER BUY ANY GM VEHICLE. BUY A VEHICLE WHOSE SPARES ARE AVAILABLE IN MARKET OR AT LEAST THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE DEALER IN YOUR CITY.
