I have been a regular customer of MSM guindy chennai. Initially I was getting very good service. The manager (I guess the name was sridharan) took care and the mechanics were well trained. Now the number of customers have increased and of late the quality of service became very bad. Once I left the vehicle for a week to change front disk assembly, drive shaft etc but nothing was done. The mechanics informed me to bring it after some time so that they will get the parts from gurgaon. So I paid advance and took my car back. But when i was driving home I felt pulsation on brake pedal, but drove home (50km) as It was raining heavily.
Next day when I removed the front wheel to see the problem, To my horror I noticed loose screws in the front wheel hub assembly, so the brake disk was shaking. This I thought is just a slip error on the part of the boys doing the repair and may be poor supervision on that day.
However, when I came back for replacement of the front disc assembly, The assembly replacement was done. This time I asked them
to fix oil leak from gear box. Oil leak was fixed. But while driving back home, I noticed some unusual vibration from the gear box.
After a week of driving the the gear system failed.
So when I asked the local mechanic to solve the problem, he says that
'extra loose bearings have been left in the gear box' possibly during the previous service, that has damaged gear train.
Both the instances 1) untightened screws, 2) loose bearings in gear box
could have been mistakes, but they are mistakes that could endanger the driver as well as innocents on the road. After the second incident I have LOST TRUST in Maruti Service Masters. I leave it to the readers to judge if the mistakes were intentional or accidental or are the mechanics telling me not to bring old cars for servicing? Will MSM management improve supervision/take action to regain their reputation?
