Appreciation fee

I, Nirmalya Banerjee, am studying at niit, jadavpur, kolkata. They are charging us 10, 000 rupees as appreciation fee. The appreciation fee is not mandatory. However the administration is telling that it is a necessity and in case we do not pay it within 24 th of december, they may suspend us. However, other centres of kolkata are not charging this fee. Please consider this case as it is of extreme importance to the students.
