I purchsed a 245Ltr-Double Door refrigerator of 'Electrolux' Brand from M/s Khosla Electronics Pvt Ltd.110, Raja S.C.Mullick Road, Garia, Kolkata-700 047 on 28-03 invoice no.2488 dated 28-03. The machine stopped functioning (Cooling) on 08-08. A complaint was lodged on the helpline no provided by EKL Appliances Ltd.. The machine was inspected by Mr Somenath Bhandari, a representative from authorised service centre, M/s Varsha Refrigeration, 460H, Raja Rammohanon Roy Road, Behala, Kolkata-700 008 on 09-08 on payment of inspection charges of Rs.330/- and declared that the 'Timer' & 'Bimetal' had gone out of order & needs replacement. This was done at my home on that day itself on a further expense of Rs. 1680/-(Bill No.1272 dtd 09-08-02010). The machine worked for only two months till 19-10. The cooling stopped and again the same Varsha Refrigeration was contacted. The same gentleman Mr. Bhandari came for inspection and I was made to pay Inspection charges of Rs.330/- once again to tell me that 'Evaporator coil' embeded on the side walls have leaked this time. M/s Varsha Refrigeration lifted the machine on 20-10. The machine was delivered back on 26-10 after fitting an external evaporator coil on the backside of the machine.and the machine started working. The repair bill this time was Rs.3150/-. But the machine worked just for two days and again stopped. M/s Varsha Refrigeration was again reported. This time another gentleman came, inspected and declared that the compressor has gone out of order this time. I asked M/s Varsha Refrigeration to take back the machine and replace the failed compressor as it is still under guarntee. M/s Varsha Refrigeration this time said that they are no longer authorised service centre as the franchisee has been terminated. I am in a deep sea of trouble as I am a diabetic patient living on insulin injection and the insulin needs storage in a refrigerator. I agin contacted helpline who this time directed me to M/s S.A.M. Appliances Service, 83, Linton Street, Kolkata - 700 014. This service organisation lifted the fridge on 04-11 and done the job of cmpressor replacement(?) and charged Rs. 1471/- vide their bill no.3187 dtd.09-11. The machine has started working from today (10-11). God only kmows how long the machine will run!

The above is a statement of facts and the story of harrowing experience I have undergone by purchasing a welknown brand of refrigerator. I wanted the earlier service franchisee M/s Varsha Refrigeration to refund me the money they have taken posing as authorised service representative of (Electrlux). M/s EKL Appliances Ltd. Total Bill I paid to M/s Varsha Refrigeration is Rs.5490/- which I claim to be rightfully refunded to me. I request the 'Electrolux Company to excercise its power to make m/s Varsha Refrigeration pay me back the money I paid to them to get the refrigerator in OK condition (which they failed).
