I went to the showroom of Parth Electrotech Pvt. Ltd. in Rajapuri, Dwarka on 06.05.2011 to buy a 1 ton Panasonic Split AC. In the showroom, the model UC12MKY was displayed with an MRP tag of Rs. 20, 000. He gave me a discount of Rs. 300 and I paid Rs. 19700. When I got delivery, i found that the MRP marked on both indoor and outdoor unit was Rs. 18990. I checked on Panasonic website and there also, the price of the model was displayed as Rs. 18990. I called up the manager of the showroom and asked for a refund of the price difference. Then he gave the most ridiculous argument I've ever heard in my life. He told me that the price of both indoor and outdoor unit is Rs. 18990 each and the total price f the ac was Rs. 37980. Apparently, they were giving me a discount of Rs. 18280. I did not want to argue further with him.
I am now planning to file a complaint with Consumer Grievance Redressel Forum and also report the matter to Panasonic officials.
