This complaint is regarding the international Airport in Mumbai.
The porter was seen stealing my mobile phone. How come there is no security check for porters.
I was travelling from Mumbai to Sharjah on 10Jan10 with a baby. We had arrived Mumbai same evening from Goa. Journey back was stressful.
At the mumbai airport A porter stole my phone. I had gone to the airport early abt 11:30 pm to avoid travel in the middle of the night. My flight was at 5am by air arabia G9404. I was seated with baby sleeping in my lap near the flight counters opposite cafe coffee day. I had set my alarm for 2 am on the mobile phone and put it in the side pocket of the bag. I fell asleep with head resting on the trolley as i was so very tired. The bag was in the pouch of the trolley.
The other passsenger who was seated next to I asked the people seated ime went to check in about 12:30am. Between 12:30am and 1:15am a porter with a blue coverall was lingering there for a while watching me. He took advantage of the situation grabbed the phone and disappeared.
f they could recognise the man and they didnt register the face. I realised the theft at abt 1:45am when i woke up looking for the phone.
Had to run about to make a complaint with MIAL then asked them to check the cctv recordings. Learnt that the camera where i was seated was not active. what is the point having cameras if they are not operational? the other close by camera had only blurred images. Sad truth, phone is gone with all the contacts etc. STOLEN BY AIRPORT EMPLOYEE!!!
Knowing the flight takes off passenger will be gone, there is no further follow up of the complaint made. I have not received any update till date.
Baby had disturbed sleep and was troubled with all of this. Bad experience with Mumbai. POOR SERVICE.
