It appers that BSNL, a previous Government Dept is sure to face the fate of dinosauers, that is extinction. The Company is not accustomed to treat the consumer with respect and has not come out of the mind set of the government. They are habituated with ordinery citizens queing up for services doled out by a government with scarse resources. Rampant corruption prevails at all levels-its lower level personnel do the most routine service only for some bakshish in return. I had th eexperience of paying bakshish too return an instrument after surrender of land line.
The management of BSNL should introspect whether they can do any thing equal or better than what the private telcos are already doing. They have gone down in the rankings and survive on governmental and PSU customes. Infact for a country like India and its common people a government telecom company is very much essential. But BSNL with its culture and attitude is not the agency for the same. Its personnel were goverment employees.who have no respect for the consumer. Its web sites and response mechanisms are the most ordinery, in fact they are unresponsive. Better dismantle the entire out fit and create some thing new would be the solution.
