Fraud / Incorrect Charges On My Bill

Dear Sir,

I have an airtel landline / broad band connection no. 01244225260. Last month I shifted from the 2nd floor of the same apartment to the ground floor and had to ask Airtel Customer Suppor Team to shift the Phone connection from Second Floor address to Ground Floor. I asked the Customer Support Executive if there would be any charges levied to me due to this shifting and the customer support exec. confirmed to me since the shifting is in the same apartment "There would be NO Charges Levied" for this shifting. Later the engineer from Airtel came to my place and shifted the phone line which took him approx. 10 mins to do the entire activity as all the cables are already in place for all the apartments in our society for every house. I again asked him will there be a charge for this and his answer was "There would be NO charge for this service as it is in the same apartment".

Around 10-15 days later I was shocked to see in my next bill there was a Charge of Rs. 300 levied on to my bill in the "Other Charges" section. I immediately called up Customer support and now to my surprise I was being harrased by saying there would be a charge to this connetion as the address has changed and it as per our company policy. "What a Shame" A company like Airtel cheating customers like this. I demanded to talk to the floor supervisor Mr. Danish Siddque (As told to me by him) who was not at all customer friendly and in a mood to listen to his customers. He kept insisting that is a company policy and the least he can do about it. "Helpless Supervisor" to say the least with no courtesy and basic knowledge of handling customers. Moreover when I got a little annoyed with him the way he was handling the entire call he told me I can go ahead and surrender this number if I want to however he would do nothing but waste my time. I asked him to log my complaint immediately and he gave me the ticket number 116492985. When I asked I need the Customer Redressal Cell email address and CEO email address he gave me the address of Mr. Gurvinder Singh saying he is the CEO of the company to which I am writing and would wait for any positive response.

I am writing this in the forum with utmost disatisfaction and want everybody to know how AIRTEL as a company is cheating their customers.
