My sister was working as Personal Assistant in the Armed Forces Headquarter, Vayu Bhawan, New Delhi. She resigned from the service on 26-01-06 from the post of Personal Assistant. Same day wrote an application for release of her GPF due. Her resignation was accepted on 24-04-06. After acceptance of resignation she submitted the requisite clearance certificate and other documents dated 15-06-06 along with request for release of GPF. On 14-03-07 in reference to my letter dated 15-06-06 I was again called upon to give certain documents (some of which were already submitted vide letter dated 15-06-06). The rest of the documents were asked to be submitted undated, which was accordingly done. The GPF was paid to me duirng the month of December and the interest was paid up to 26-01-06 only. No interest on GPF was paid from 26-01-06 up to December (when the GPF was paid to me). I wrote several requests to the Department but nothing has been done so far. Please help me and kindly let me know the rule rule position why I was not paid interest on GPF from 26-01-06 to December.
