Hello,

I would like to draw your attention towards a concern I faced today. We took an auto, Number KA 05 1424 from KSRTC busstand to Billekahalli, Bannerghatta road. The autowala took us for a trip of the whole city and finally when it reached the destination, meter read 26.7 KM, Amount Rs 189/-.

It was clear that the meter reading is wrong and we asked the autowala to check that. We found that the distance between Jayadeva flyover and our stop is 3.5 KM on his meter which always comes to < 2KM otherwise. When we pointed that out, the autodriver started misbehaving with us and demanded Rs 250/- (since it was after 10 PM and we agreed on a 1.5 times meter mode). We had a fight and finaly gave in, giving him the full money. However minutes later he came back saying we still havent paid in full and demanded another Rs 100. Since it was dark and lonely place, after a long fight (autowala abusing us in Kannada) we gave in.

Is this the kind of service we should have in mind from now on? The basic thumb rule for 1.5 times meter is I guess a correct meter and the shortest route, neither of which has been followed.

I request you to kindly take up our concerns seriously and take proper action against such auto drivers before mone passengers are cheated.
